About MuslimWay
MuslimWay is a free Q&A site for people who are new to Islam. We give short, honest, easy-to-read answers to the questions new Muslims actually ask, from the small and awkward to the big and serious.
Why we exist
Taking your Shahada is a big step. The questions start right after: How do I pray if I don't know Arabic? Do I have to tell my family? Can I keep my dog? What do I do at the office Christmas party?
Many new Muslims in Europe and North America don't have a local teacher, a Muslim family, or a mosque nearby to ask. Searching online often leads to long lectures, harsh opinions, or answers written for people who grew up Muslim. MuslimWay was built to fill that gap.

- The short answer first. Each page starts with a clear "Quick answer", then explains the details for anyone who wants to read more.
- Plain English. Arabic terms are explained the first time we use them.
- A gentle, practical tone. We focus on what you can do today, in your real life, in a Western country.
Our approach
Our answers are based on the Quran, authentic hadith, and the mainstream positions of recognized Sunni scholarship. Where scholars hold different valid opinions, we try to say so and explain the main views instead of presenting only one.
We are not a fatwa service. Our articles are general educational guidance. For personal situations such as marriage, divorce, inheritance, or health, please speak to a qualified imam or scholar you trust. You can read more in our Disclaimer.
