Am I too old to become Muslim?

No, never. Islam is open to you at any age, whether you're 40, 70 or 95. As long as you're alive, the door is open, and all your past sins are forgiven when you sincerely take your shahada. Many people embrace Islam later in life and find great peace in it.
The door stays open
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: "Indeed Allah accepts the repentance of a slave as long as (his soul does not reach his throat)" (Jami at-Tirmidhi 3537). That means right up to the last moments of life.
Older companions
Abu Quhafa, the elderly father of Abu Bakr, accepted Islam on the day Mecca was conquered, when his hair and beard were completely white (Sahih Muslim 2102). The Prophet ﷺ welcomed him warmly. Many companions became Muslim in middle age or later.
Common worries

- "My body can't do the prayer movements." You can pray sitting or on a chair. Islam adjusts to your ability.
- "What will my children think?" Be gentle and patient. Your kindness can speak for you.
- "Is there enough time left?" A little sincere faith counts for a lot. See What happens if I die right after taking my shahada?
