Yes, you can get married on Eid. There is no rule in Islam against holding a nikah on Eid al-Fitr, Eid al-Adha or the days after them. In fact, many Muslim families love Eid weddings because relatives are already together and in a happy mood.

No forbidden days for a nikah

A nikah is valid on any day of the year as long as its conditions are met: the consent of both partners, the wali for the bride (in most schools), two witnesses and the mahr. The only people who may not marry at a given time are those in ihram for Hajj or Umrah. Eid has no such restriction.

'Aishah said the Prophet ﷺ married her in Shawwal (Sahih Muslim 1423), the month that begins with Eid al-Fitr. Many scholars see this as a sign that marrying around Eid is perfectly fine, and some even consider Shawwal a nice time for it.

وَمِنْ ءَايَـٰتِهِۦٓ أَنْ خَلَقَ لَكُم مِّنْ أَنفُسِكُمْ أَزْوَٰجًا لِّتَسْكُنُوٓا۟ إِلَيْهَا وَجَعَلَ بَيْنَكُم مَّوَدَّةً وَرَحْمَةً ۚ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَـٰتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ "And of His signs is that He created for you from yourselves mates that you may find tranquility in them; and He placed between you affection and mercy. Indeed in that are signs for a people who give thought." Quran 30:21

Why Eid can be a good choice

  • Family is together: people often travel home for Eid anyway.
  • Joy is already in the air: Eid is a day of celebration, food and gifts.
  • Time off: many people already have the day off work.

Eid al-Adha also comes with plenty of meat from the qurbani for a walimah. The days of tashriq after it are "days of eating and drinking" (Sahih Muslim 1141), which suits a wedding feast nicely.

Things to plan for

  • Don't miss the Eid prayer. Schedule the nikah after the prayer, or on the second or third day. See Do I have to pray the Eid prayer?
  • The date can move. Eid depends on the moon, so the exact day may shift by one. Choose a venue that can be flexible. See How do I know which day Eid is?
  • Busy imams and halls: mosques and venues are in high demand around Eid, so book early.
  • Guests' other plans: some relatives may have their own Eid visits; ask before you fix the day.

Keep it simple and blessed
