Can I manage social media for a brand that sells alcohol?

No, most scholars say you shouldn't manage social media for a brand whose main product is alcohol. Writing posts and ads that make people want to drink is directly promoting it. A general store or restaurant that also sells some alcohol is a grey area, as long as you never promote the alcohol itself.
Promoting alcohol is helping the sin
A social media manager's whole job is to make people want the product. When the product is beer, wine or spirits, that's active promotion, not a distant connection. Allah says:
The Prophet ﷺ cursed not only the drinker of wine but also the one who serves it, sells it, buys it, presses it, carries it and the one it is carried to (Sunan Abi Dawud 3674). Scholars see marketing as part of that chain, because it pushes the sale forward. See Can Muslims drink alcohol?
Where scholars draw the line
- Alcohol-only brands (breweries, wineries, liquor brands, bars): avoid. Nearly every post would promote something haram.
- Mixed businesses (supermarkets, restaurants, hotels): many scholars allow it if your work focuses on halal products and you can refuse alcohol content. If alcohol is a big part of what you post, it becomes a problem.
- Agencies: if you work at an agency with many clients, ask not to be put on alcohol accounts. Many agencies already let staff opt out for ethical reasons.

If this is your job right now
Don't panic or quit overnight if you have rent and bills. Many converts were in exactly this position. Talk to your manager about moving to other clients, start applying elsewhere, and make sincere dua for a halal alternative. Scholars generally say that money already earned before you knew the ruling isn't something to feel guilty about; focus on changing course now. See Can I keep my job at a bar after becoming Muslim?
Your skills are still valuable
Social media management is a halal and useful skill. Halal food brands, modest fashion, charities, local businesses and tech companies all need good managers. Your experience transfers directly, and you may enjoy work you can feel proud of.
