Can I pray in a room with alcohol in it?

Yes, in most cases. Your prayer is valid in a flat, an office or even a bar where alcohol is kept or served, as long as the spot you pray on is clean and the prayer is done properly. A quiet room without alcohol is better when you have the choice, and you should not stay in a drinking gathering longer than you need to.
The place matters less than the spot
The Prophet ﷺ said the earth has been made a place for prayer, so anyone can pray wherever the time of a prayer comes (Sahih al-Bukhari 335). Scholars exclude a few places, such as toilets and graveyards. A room with bottles in it is not one of them. Drinking alcohol is forbidden (Quran 5:90), but its being in the room does not change whether your prayer counts.
What could affect your prayer
- Spilled alcohol. Some scholars treat alcohol as physically impure, others do not. To be safe, avoid wet spots and pray on a mat or a clean towel. See Is perfume with alcohol haram? for the debate.
- Sealed bottles, a fridge or a cabinet. These make no difference to your prayer.
- Noise and smell. They can distract you, which is a reason to find a quieter spot, not a reason your prayer is invalid.
At home, in a flat or at work
If your roommate or family keeps alcohol at home, you can pray in your own room or any clean corner. If someone has been drinking, pick a spot away from them and keep your mat down. In an office with a drinks cabinet or a party in the next room, a meeting room or empty corner is a good choice. For shared housing, see What if my roommate drinks alcohol?
Bars, pubs and parties
If you are at a bar for work or a family event, you can step into a back room, an office or even outside to pray. Don't feel embarrassed: prayer is a good reason to take a short break. Many scholars discourage sitting in a gathering where alcohol is being served, so keep your time there short, and leave when you can. For hotels, see Can Muslims stay in a hotel that serves alcohol?
- The presence of alcohol does not invalidate prayer.
- Pray on a clean spot, ideally on a mat, away from spills.
- Choose a quiet alcohol-free room if you have the option.
- Do not linger at gatherings where alcohol is served.
