Can Muslims go to Las Vegas?

Yes, Muslims can go to Las Vegas. Traveling to a city isn't haram because of what happens there. What matters is what you do: avoid gambling, drinking and indecent shows, and keep up your prayers. Many Muslims visit for conferences, family trips or the national parks nearby.
Travel is allowed
Islam doesn't ban places, it bans actions. Muslims live, work and travel in cities full of bars and casinos all the time. A work conference, a family wedding, a stopover on the way to the Grand Canyon or Zion: all of these are normal reasons to be in Las Vegas. The same reasoning applies to other trips with temptations on board. See Can I still go on a cruise as a Muslim?
That said, if your only plan is the casino floor and the nightlife, that's a different question. Ask yourself honestly why you're going.
What to avoid
Gambling and alcohol are named together in the Quran as things to stay away from.
- No gambling of any kind: slot machines, card tables, sports betting and "just one spin for fun" all count. See Can I still buy lottery tickets as a Muslim?
- No drinking, and avoid sitting at tables where alcohol is being served: the Prophet ﷺ told believers not to sit at a spread where wine is passed around (Jami' at-Tirmidhi 2801, graded hasan).
- Skip the adult shows and clubs: lowering the gaze applies on the Strip too.
Choosing where to stay
Most big Strip hotels are built around a casino, and you often have to walk through the gaming floor to reach your room. Passing through isn't a sin, but many Muslims prefer non-casino hotels, off-Strip apartments or chain hotels a short drive away. They're often quieter and cheaper, and you'll find it easier to pray and sleep. Check that the room has a clear corner for prayer and a qibla direction.
Praying and eating in Vegas
Las Vegas has several mosques and Islamic centers, plus plenty of halal restaurants away from the Strip. If you're traveling the travel distance, you can shorten your prayers, and most schools allow combining too. A small prayer mat and a qibla app make it easy to pray in your hotel room. You can also enjoy the side of Vegas that has nothing to do with gambling: the desert, Red Rock Canyon, Hoover Dam, food, and family shows.
- Visiting Las Vegas is allowed; the city itself isn't haram.
- Avoid all gambling, alcohol and indecent shows.
- Consider non-casino hotels to make life easier.
- Keep your prayers; mosques and halal food are available.
