Can women go to the Eid prayer?

Yes, absolutely, and they're strongly encouraged to. The Prophet ﷺ told women, including young girls and even women on their period, to come out on Eid. Women on their period don't join the prayer rows, but they can still be there for the takbir, the dua and the celebration.
What the Prophet ﷺ said
Umm Atiyyah reported that he commanded them to bring out the unmarried young women and the secluded women for the Eid prayers, and told women on their period to keep away from the place of prayer itself (Sahih Muslim 890).
- Everyone was included: the women would stand behind the men, say the takbir with them and make dua, hoping for the blessings of that day (Sahih al-Bukhari 971).
- No excuse left: when a woman asked what to do if she didn't have an outer garment (jilbab), he said, "Let her share the veil of her companion" (Sahih al-Bukhari 351).
- He spoke to them directly: after the sermon he went over to the women, reminded them and encouraged them to give charity (Sahih al-Bukhari 978).
Is it required for women?
Most scholars say the Eid prayer isn't obligatory for women, but it's a strongly encouraged sunnah, and some scholars said women should attend because of the clear command in these hadith. A few later Hanafi scholars disliked young women going out in their own times out of concern for mixing, but most scholars today encourage women to come, as long as they dress modestly. If you're on your period
You can still go. Sit with the women at the back or to the side of the prayer area, say the takbir, listen to the sermon and make dua. You just don't pray. Many women find this one of the most comforting things about Eid: nobody is left out. See Do I have to pray while on my period?
