Is Islam only for Arabs?

No. Islam is for all of humanity. Only about one in five Muslims is Arab; the largest Muslim country is Indonesia, and there are millions of Muslims in Europe, Africa, Asia and the Americas. Many of them are converts with no Arab background at all.
A message for everyone
The Quran was revealed in Arabic, and the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was an Arab, but his message was addressed to all people.
Diverse from the very start
Among the Prophet's closest companions were Bilal from Abyssinia (modern Ethiopia), Salman from Persia and Suhayb, known as "the Roman." They were honored for their faith, not their ethnicity.
The Prophet ﷺ said: "Verily Allah does not look to your faces and your wealth but He looks to your heart and to your deeds" (Sahih Muslim 2564).
Why it can look "Arab"
- Arabic is the language of the Quran and prayer, so every Muslim learns some Arabic words.
- Mecca and Medina are in Arabia.
- News and media often focus on the Middle East.
But learning a few Arabic phrases doesn't make you Arab, just as Latin in church doesn't make Catholics Roman. See Do I need to learn Arabic before I become Muslim?
Islam vs. culture
Every Muslim culture has its own food, clothes and customs: Turkish, Malay, Senegalese, Bosnian, Pakistani and more. As a European or American Muslim, you don't need to adopt any of them. You can stay yourself, with your own culture, as long as it doesn't contradict Islam. For more, see Do I have to change my name after becoming Muslim?
- Islam is a message for all humanity.
- Only about 20% of Muslims are Arab.
- The early companions came from many nations.
- You can be Muslim and keep your own culture.
