Is it haram to eat food that touched pork?

It depends on how it touched. If pork grease, juices or pieces got into your food, most scholars say you shouldn't eat it. If dry food only brushed against dry packaging or a clean surface, it's generally fine. And pans or utensils that were used for pork become usable again once they're washed.
Why contact matters
Pork isn't only forbidden to eat. The Quran also calls it impure: "the flesh of swine - for indeed, it is impure" (Quran 6:145). All four schools of Islamic law treat pork as najis (ritually impure). So the question isn't whether pork "cursed" your food, but whether some of it actually transferred.
- Wet contact: pork fat, juice or crumbs mixed into the food. Most scholars say avoid it.
- Dry contact: a sealed pack of bacon next to your bread, or a dry roll touching a dry sausage. Nothing transfers, so the food stays halal.
- Cooked together: vegetables roasted in the same tray as pork, or fries from a fryer used for pork, have absorbed it.
Picking pork off a dish doesn't fix this, because the fat has already soaked in. See Can I still eat pizza as a Muslim if I pick off the pepperoni?
Pots, pans and utensils
A Companion asked the Prophet ﷺ about eating from the utensils of Christians and Jews, which could have held pork or wine. He said: "if you can get utensils other than theirs, do not eat out of theirs, but if you cannot get other than theirs, wash their utensils and eat out of it" (Sahih al-Bukhari 5478).
So a pan that once cooked bacon is fine after a proper wash. Scholars differ on how: the Hanafi and Maliki schools say wash until no trace remains, while the Shafi'i school (and some Hanbalis) asks for seven washes, one with earth or soil, as with dog impurity. Shared kitchens and eating out
- Ask for clean utensils or a separate board when someone is serving pork nearby.
- Choose items cooked separately, like salads, grilled fish on a clean pan, or sides not cooked in pork fat.
- Don't over-investigate. You're responsible for what you know or can reasonably see, not every hidden possibility.

If it already happened
If you ate something without knowing it had touched pork, there's no sin. Allah taught us to pray:
If pork touched your hand or clothes, simply wash the spot before you pray.
- Pork is forbidden and considered impure in Islam.
- Wet contact or shared cooking makes food doubtful to eat.
- Dry contact without transfer is generally fine.
- Washed pots and utensils are halal to use again.
