Yes, there is marriage in Jannah: believing spouses can be together again, and the Prophet ﷺ said no one in Paradise will be single. Marriage there is pure companionship and joy, without the arguments, jealousy or loneliness of this life.

Spouses together again

The Quran speaks of believers enjoying Paradise with their spouses more than once. They will be told, "Enter Paradise, you and your spouses, delighted" (Quran 43:70), and they are described resting together in the shade.

هُمْ وَأَزْوَٰجُهُمْ فِى ظِلَـٰلٍ عَلَى ٱلْأَرَآئِكِ مُتَّكِـُٔونَ "They and their spouses – in shade, reclining on adorned couches." Quran 36:56

So if you and your spouse both enter Jannah, you can be together there. Allah also says He will marry the people of Paradise to "fair ones with large eyes" (Quran 44:54), the houris, which shows that companionship is part of the reward.

No one will be lonely

In a hadith about the first people to enter Paradise, the Prophet ﷺ said that there will be no one unmarried in Paradise (Sahih Muslim 2834). This is a real comfort for converts who are single, divorced, widowed, or who never found the right person in this life. Loneliness is a test of this world, not of the next.

What if I was married more than once?

Scholars have discussed this, and the answer isn't fully settled:

  • A man who had more than one believing wife can be with them in Paradise.
  • A woman who married more than one believing husband: some scholars say she will be with her last husband, others say she will choose the one with the best character. The narrations on this are debated, so it's best to leave the details to Allah.
  • A spouse who isn't in Jannah won't be there, but Allah will give you a better companion, and you won't feel any loss.

What marriage in Jannah is like

All the things that strain marriages here are gone. There is no illness, no money stress, no tiredness and no bitterness, because Allah removes all resentment from people's hearts (Quran 15:47). Everyone has whatever they desire (Quran 41:31). Marriage becomes pure love and peace. See What is Jannah?

That's also a reason to treat your marriage now as a path to Paradise: choose a spouse for faith and character, and be kind to each other. See Should I marry for love or for religion in Islam? If you're still looking, it's never too late. See Am I too old to get married as a Muslim convert?
