Will we sleep in Jannah?

No, according to a narration many scholars accept, the people of Jannah will not sleep, because sleep is "the brother of death" and there is no death or tiredness in Paradise. You won't miss it, either: sleep exists to cure exhaustion, and in Jannah nobody ever gets tired.

Sleep is the brother of death

When the Prophet ﷺ was asked whether the people of Paradise sleep, he is reported to have said, "Sleep is the brother of death, and the people of Paradise do not sleep." This narration is recorded by at-Tabarani and al-Bayhaqi, and scholars such as al-Albani graded it authentic.

The link makes sense. Islam describes sleep as a kind of small death: Allah takes the souls at the time of sleep and returns them (Quran 39:42). That's why the sunnah dua on waking thanks Allah "who gave us life after He caused us to die". See What should I say before sleeping? Since there is no death at all in Paradise, there is no "small death" either.

No tiredness, no need to rest

We need sleep because our bodies wear out. In Jannah, that weakness is gone. The people of Paradise say:

لَا يَمَسُّنَا فِيهَا نَصَبٌ وَلَا يَمَسُّنَا فِيهَا لُغُوبٌ "There touches us not in it any fatigue, and there touches us not in it weariness." Quran 35:35

So the lack of sleep isn't a hardship. It's a sign of a perfect body that never needs recharging, along with no illness and no ageing (Sahih Muslim 2837).

Will we miss the cosy feeling of sleep?

Many people love sleep, and it's one of Allah's blessings in this life (Quran 78:9). But what we enjoy about sleep is really rest, comfort and peace. Jannah gives all of those directly. The Quran describes its people reclining on couches in shade with their spouses (Quran 36:56), with no worry, fear or regret. Every pleasure you can imagine is there, so nothing good is lost. See What is Jannah?

A reminder for now

Sleep in this life is a gift, and Islam treats it with balance: enough rest is good, but not at the cost of prayer. See Can I still sleep in on weekends as a Muslim? Every night is also a small reminder of death and of the day we will wake for good, which helps keep life in perspective.
